NOTE: There is confusion about the Blanton and Blanding families.WILLIAM BLANTON arrived in Boston Massachusetts about 1635, by 1643 he was a Freeman, a landowner, and married with a family.

There are NO records for a early arriving Blanding, the first true siting is that of Noah Blantine, minor son of William (2) Blantine/Blanton.  Why Noah changed his name to Blanding is uncertain.

To date the only name change known is NOAH BLANTINE/BLANTON/BLANDING. His descendant Curtis Blanding participated in the BLANTON FAMILY NATIONWIDE DNA TESTING ANALYSIS and a strong BLANTON family DNA connection is present thus connecting the Blanton Family ancestry and Curtis Blanding  and his ancestry.
